The PAP® automatic poly-electrolyte preparation stations allow the preparation (mixing with water), maturation and dosing of the granular poly-electrolyte to be performed automatically in a continuous and easy way. The offered equipment consists of a funnel for adding poly-electrolyte, the main vessel, a mixing tank, a mixer and a dosing system. The funnel for adding granular poly-electrolyte is made of stainless steel and is installed on the body of the automatic station. The main vessel is rectangular in shape, made of polyester, reinforced with fibreglass, in which the polymer is prepared and matured, equipped with an upper operating hole and a bottom drainage nozzle. There are floats for minimum, maximum and medium level installed in the tank, through which the automatic start of the mixer, the supply with poly-electrolyte and water is controlled. The mixing of the poly-electrolyte with water is done in a stainless steel mixing tank located on one side above the main vessel. The water supply system has a control electronic valve and a pressure regulator that controls the flow rate as needed. The addition of water is carried out through two inlets at different heights in order to secure the necessary vorticity to perform the first mixing with the poly-electrolytes and to avoid the appearance of lumps. The mixing is carried out by means of a built-in mixer with a stirrer controlled by a motor-reducer. Dosing is performed by a dosing pump installed in the upper part. The installation of such equipment is necessary for all systems that require dosing of poly-electrolyte for flocculation in the treatment of all types of industrial and urban wastewater.

The process of flocculation is applicable to water purification, compaction and dewatering of sludge, in which the result is aggregation of particles formed during the coagulation step and the formation of the so-called flocs. Such treatment can be applied only after coagulation, since the reduction of repulsive forces between the particles favors their formation in aggregates, and flocculation, in turn, promotes growth and accelerates the separation of these phases from particles. The process takes place under the influence of a polymer - a substance composed of high molecular weight molecules formed from a large number of identical molecules called monomers linked by covalent bonds. The electric charge (+ or -) of the flocculant is chosen depending on the nature of the particles dissolved in the water, usually an anionic flocculant (-) is applied to mineral particles and a cationic flocculant (+) to organic particles.
